GIY Dungarvan celebrated our first birthday last night with a “harvest festival” of wonderful home baking, salads, preserves, dips and chutnies.  The tables at Dillon’s Bar were groaning with every kind of food; all home made and all containing ingredients from the garden. We even had a first birthday cake! 

It would be unfair to single out anything or special mention as everyone put in so much effort (but the beetrrot pesto was hard to beat).  Even our speaker Jo Doorley got into the spirit of the evening by bringing along some of her own home baking.  

The evening was such a success that we have already agreed to do it again next year.  It was a great way to celebrate all the hard work in the garden this Summer.  Many thanks to everyone who came along.
