Its our fifth birthday and we are celebrating all this week with tastings, competitions special offers & giveaways.  As its also Waterford Festival of Food week , all of our in store tastings are of Irish Artisan Foods.

On Thursday April 15th we are offering tastings of Beal Orgainc Cheddar (of Dragons’ Den fame) together with Baking Emporium Seeded Spelt Crackers from Co. Cork and Filligan’s Chutney.  The Filligan’s range is handmade by a small family company from Co. Donegal and is about the best we’ve tasted.   We started stocking it just before last Christmas and it has been a real hit.

On Friday April 16th we have Catherine Hickey from Co Cork based food company Posh Nosh in store to do tastings of their award winning salad dressings.  The White Balsamic dressing is pretty hard to beat. 

That’s followed on Saturday April 17th with a visit from Cathy of Cathy’s Spelt for Health.  She will be offering tastings of her great Spelt bread and flapjack mixes.

Also on Saturday, Jess Keane and Eunice Power will be be giving a demo of “Super Foods Made Simple”at Dungarvan Town Hall at 2.00pm – 4.00pm.   They will be joined by Druid Chef Ruairi O’Morachain and will be using lots of superfoods from our store.  Tickets are €5.00 from the Festival Box Office at Grattan Square in Dungarvan.

If  that’s not enough, our own Anne Whinnett has been scouring the recipe books and will be offering a different home made cake or cookie every day this week.  Yesterday we had Garam Massala biscuits from a Green Saffron recipe & they went down a storm.
