Easter Opening Hours

We are open to day (Good Friday) & Easter Saturday from 9.30am – 5.30pm as normal.  We will be closed on Easter Sunday and Monday.

We will reopen at 9.30am on Tuesday 2nd April.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Tofu the Veggie Pig Rides Again!

Tofu, our Food Festival pig was beginning to look a little jaded after two years of non-stop partying and personal appearances (she’s still trying to live down that night at Zeta’s).

So, we took her away this weekend to the Blasta Spa in Stradbally and gave her a complete makeover.  She’s had a fresh coat of make-up (Dulux “A Hint of Pink” is her favourite), a snout job and, ahem, a tail tuck.

She’s now looking absolutely fabulous and ready to meet her public at the West Waterford Festival of Food from 11th – 14th April. Programme details & tickets are available from www.westwaterfordfestivaloffood.com

A Raw Food Revolution

The Rude Health Show may be no more, but there will be Rude Health events around the country across the year.  One such event is in being held as part of this year’s West Waterford Festival of Food.  “A Raw Food Revolution” will be at Dungarvan Town Hall on Saturday 13th April from 2pm – 3.30pm.

Raw Food is a real phenomenon at the moment & this event is sure to be a hit. We’ve been lucky enough to attract award winning raw foodie Natasha Czopor, of Natasha’s Living food, to do a demo.  Natasha is appearing with popular local Nutritionist Jess Keane and former San Francisco based Raw Food Chef Conor Foran (now of Lawlor’s Hotel in Dungarvan).

Tickets are just €10.00 & are available from the Wine Buff, Blasta Wholefoods and on line at www.westwaterfordfestivaloffood.com

Cookies of Character

Today’s new Irish product range is Cookies of Character.

Small batches are hand made in in the traditional way in Dumanway Co Cork, without artificial colours, preservatives or flavours.

The marriage between Irish ingredients including flours, free range eggs & spring water and fine Belgian chocolate & bourbon vanilla, has us on the way to being addicted already.

We have three flavours in stock, Oat & Raisin, Chocolate Chip & my personal favourite Baci di Dama (ladies kisses). Yum

We’ve just taken delivery of our first batch of Sheridan’s Brown-bread crackers for cheese.

You may have seen these the other night on Nationwide after they won a top award from the Irish Food Writers’ Guild.

They’re Irish through and through. Made in Dunmanway, Co Cork with stone ground flour from Macroom, Bandon Co-op butter, and buttermilk produced by the Cronin family in Belgooly.

We hear that there are three shifts working around the clock to keep up with demand for this superb product.
