This simple recipe for home made sugar free Lemonade was given to us by Sinead Ni Ghealbhain.  It really couldn’t be easier.

Don’t worry about Xylitol – although it sounds like a nasty artificial sweetener its actually perfectly natural & very low GI.  This makes this recipes suitable for diabetics.

150g Xylitol
150ml Water
Juice of 3 Lemons
500ml of Still or Sparkling water

1. Add the xylitol and 150ml water to a small pan. Dissolve to xylitol in the water, bring the mixture to the boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Set aside to cool.

2. When the syrup is cool place it in a large jug with the juice of 3 large lemons.

3. Top up with 500ml of still or sparkling water.

4. Enjoy!

Dr Hauschka In-Store

As expected, we’re now fully booked for the Dr Hauschka in store event on Thursday 23rd June.

We are now taking names for cancellations, so its worth keeping in touch over the next few days of you’re interested in a free mini facial with Dr Hauschka consultant Heidi.

Nairns Gluten Free Oatcakes

We have been waiting some time for these little fellas to arrive.

Made from “pure” oats, they carry the international gluten free symbol which guarantees that they are suitable for coeliacs.

They are 86% wholegrain oats, so they are a good source of fibre (not always easy to get on a gluten free diet). Also, there’s no added sugar, no GM ingredients & no nuts.  And just one more thing…. they taste great!

A Nice Cup of Tea

A 1940’s tea room in the  is now officially open at Dungarvan St. Marys Church, thanks to the hard work of Ria Drohan, one of our regular customers.
They are serving old fashioned teas with homemade cakes for a donation for church funds every Saturday between 2.00pm & 4.30pm.  All the teas are guaranteed Fair Trade.  Please drop in & support them if you get the chance.

This Thursday 16th June they have a coffee morning for Sue Ryder & Parish funds from 10.30am – 12.30pm.

Free to a Good Home

We seem to have found ourselves with a glut of courgette plants ready to plant out in the veg patch. They are “black beauty” variety which should crop really well if we get a bit of sunshine & you keep them well watered.

Anne will bring them into the shop on Monday morning if anyone wants them.

Those nice people at Naturtint have given us some free gifts to give away with every purchase of Naturtint Permanent and Reflex semi permanent natural hair dyes.

We have a supply of  little twin packs of Naturtint Shampoo to moisturise & strengthen your hair and Nutrideep Multiplier, a conditioner specially formulated to maintain long lasting colour in dyed hair.

Naturtint is a hugely popular range with our customers – there’s  no ammonia, no parabens & its really gentle, whilst giving really good coverage & colour.  With the extra advantage of a freebie its now a great time to give it a try.

Dr Hauschka In-Store

People started asking us for the date of the next Dr Hauschka in-store event more or less as soon as the last one finished.

The good news is we’ve at last been able to schedule a new event.  Dr Hauschka specialist Heidi will be in store on Thursday 23rd June. She’ll be offering a FREE one to one mini facial and make up session for as many people as we can fit in during the day.

Demand for the last Hauschka in-store was so great that we had to turn a number of people away.  So, please let us know soon  if you want to book a session with Heidi.
