New from The Pure Food Company

We are really pleased to become the latest stockists of products from the Pure Food Company.

Waterford based Cian Hawes & Paul Power produce & manufacture a range of sauces, and preserves using locally grown organic fruit and veg and a selection of under used native wild flowers.

In the chiller cabinet we have fresh traditional Lemon Curd, Christmas Curd, Harissa, Spinach Pesto & Wild Rocket Pesto.  On the shelf we have Red Onion Marmalade, Puca Hot Chilli Sauce, Banshee Sauce (extra hot chilli sauce) and a lovely seasonal Cranberry & Orange Sauce.

Give them a try, we promise you won’t be disappointed.

Flahavan’s Local Food Heroes

Isn’t it really wierd having a global food brand on our doorstep right here in rural Co Waterford?

They might be doing great things in the states these days, but Flahavan’s haven’t forgotten their roots as a local family firm. They are really supportive of local initiatives like the West Waterford Festival of Food.

We dropped into Flahavan’s Mill in Kilmacthomas a couple of days ago to pick up fresh supplies.  So, we now have both the regular and the jumbo Organic Oat Flakes back in stock.

We’ve also got my favourite winter warmer, the Coarse Cut Oatmeal, which for some reason tastes really creamy even if you’ve made it with water – clever that.

We are always on the lookout for new products from small Irish producers.  This time we haven’t had too far to look.

Rachel & Mark Hartrey are producing a great range of authentic curry pastes & spice mixes right here in County Waterford.

We tried their Bombay Aloo & Rogan Josh at the recent Waterford Harvest Food Festival and were just blown away.  No colours, preservatives or nasty additives, just great fresh flavours.

We have a great range in store and we hope you like them as much as we do.

Power Greens In Store Event

A number of Irish companies won awards at this year’s Great Taste Awards in the UK.

One of the most intriguing was Nobó, an Irish company that produces the world’s first ice cream alternative made from avocado, coconut milk, and sweetened with pure honey.

These pots of frozen goodness are handmade in Ireland in small batches. But you don’t have to take our word for how good these are.  This is what the Great Taste Awards, Judging Panel said:

“The judges are wowed by this. There is NO cream in this yet it tastes wonderfully creamy and smooth. Beautifully made – you can taste the ‘love’ in this. There are a lot of grins on the judges’ faces – fabulous.”

We have three great flavours of Nobó; Chocolate & Toasted Almond, Vanilla & Coconut and Fresh lemon.

Sea Gardener Bars

What Marie Power doesn’t know about seaweed probably isn’t worth knowing. You may have come across her talks and foraging workshops as part of the West Wateford Festival of Food.

Marie is now branching out into food production under the Sea Gardener brand. We have two great Sea Gardener bars in store – Coconut & Lime and Almond & Orange.

They are packed with really wholesome natural ingredients and of course all the health benefits of seaweed.
Marie also has a great website with lots of information about seaweed. check out www.theseagardener.ie

SynerChi Live Kombucha

A couple of weeks ago one of our customers asked us to get hold of some SynerChi live Kombucha.

It’s an Irish made soft drink; craft brewed using a traditional fermentation method which preserves live cultures and raw enzymes.  So far, so hippy you might think, but wait, it’s not just 100% natural  and only 59 calories per bottle, it’s also delicious.

We have four flavours for you to try, Raspberry & Rosehip, Oranges & Lemon, Ginger & Lemongrass & my favourite Original Sencha.

Tastefully Yours Thai Curry Sauces

You know we always try to support local food businesses & we are really lucky in this part of the world to have locally produced foods of such fantastic quality.

Our latest find is a range of Thai curry sauces from Tastefully Yours in Dunhill. Norbert & Audrea are absolutely uncompromising on quality & won’t use any preservatives, so you’ll find their sauces in the chilled cabinet.

We love the simple ingredients: coconut milk, carefully selected spices & nothing scary. They are even gluten free.

We have Thai Red, Green, Massaman & Aromatic Lemongrass curry sauces in stock. Give ‘em a go, you won’t be disappointed we promise.

We’re really pleased that Nia, a great new Irish made natural skincare range has just arrived in store.

These balms are unique in that they are formulated like a cream but without the addition of water and therefore also without the need for emulsifiers, alcohol, preservatives or chemicals of any kind.

They can be used on the most sensitive, even allergy prone, skins. Use them in their concentrated form for intensive moisturising for dry skin or use them with additional water over the top for someone looking for moisturising with a lighter texture.

We have a Facial Moisturiser, a Firming Body Balm, an Intensive Body Balm & an Intensive Body Scrub.  We’re also really pleased with the Delicate just balm which is formulated specially for excema, dermatitis, psoriasis, flaky patches, irritation, skin rashes & is even gentle enough for babies.

We have lots of testers and samples in store.

We have a great offer in store from those lovely Dr Hauschka people.

Just spend €35 on any Dr.Hauschka products & you’ll receive a Cleansing Kit absolutely FREE.

The Kit includes a Dr H Cleansing Milk and a choice of bath essence – either Lemon Lemongrass or Moor Lavender.

Offer available only while stocks last (which won’t be long).
