Welcome to Blásta Wholefoods.  We are an independent health and specialist food store owned and operated by husband and wife team Rob and Anne Whinnett.

Blasta is a busy little store with an excellent location on Dungarvan’s  Main Street, opposite Shaw’s Department Store.  We are proud of our reputation for friendly and helpful service.

As you would expect from the name (Blásta is Irish for tasty), the focus is firmly on food, with literally hundreds of different lines, including Organic, Demeter and Fair Trade products.  Our range of culinary herbs, baking ingredients and teas is the best in town.  We also stock many unusual foods that you will not find anywhere else locally, and are pleased to help source those hard to find ingredients.   We also offer specialist foods for a wide range of dietary needs including sugar free, wheat free, dairy free, gluten free and low salt etc.  We are pleased to offer dietary advice and recipe ideas.

We have a growing range of Irish Artisan foods including the award winning Natasha’s Living Food, Green Saffron spice mixes, Filligan’s Chutnies from Donegal, Dannucci Confectionery from Co Louth, Happy Heart Organic Rapeseed Oil from Kilkenny, the world famous Hadji Beys,  Cathy’s Spelt for Health Bread Mixes, Mic’s Chilli, a range of Ballybrado & Sowans products to name just a few.  Of course we also have foods from local producers including Barron’s Bread, Crinnaghtaun Apple Juice, Moynihan’s Honey and Flahavan’s Organic Oats.  We are always looking for new Irish artisan foods and are currently adding to our range on a weekly basis.

For babies we have Plum Baby organic baby foods & snacks,  Hipp & Nanny Goat milks, Weleda, Green Baby  & Baby Burt’s toiletries, Clearly Herbal baby wipes and eco friendly nappies.

Vitamin, mineral and supplement products on offer include Solgar, Quest, Higher Nature, A. Vogel, UDO’s, Biocare and much, much more.  We offer a great range of skin kind natural body care products, including Dr. Hauschka, Green People, Weleda, Jason and Faith in Nature.  We have by far the best range of Ecover and other eco friendly household products in the area – bring your Ecover empties & we’ll refill them for you.

Blasta Wholefoods is a full member of the Irish Association of Health Stores (IAHS).  The IAHS Code of Ethics ensures that you are dealing with staff who are trained to offer professional guidance and advice.
